Premiere: SPQR – ‘Or So I Say’

A striking new band from Liverpool...

SPQR are a new voice from Liverpool, a striking fusion of Jeff Buckley's vocals, crunching guitar, and uniquely personal songwriting.

New EP 'The House That Doubt Built' arrives on November 10th, a multi-layered offering that continually pushes that little bit deeper.

Clash is able to premiere new cut 'Or So I Say' and it's a pile-driving return, one rooted in that strong, rousing vocal and those belting guitar lunes.

The band's Peter Harrison tells Clash: “’Or So I Say’ was recorded during the worst of it all, and is the song that took the longest to record. I could never get the takes right. It’s a song about becoming used to fulfilling someone else’s needs with a disregard for your own, and deals the closest with some dark thoughts that I was having. It’s about not being as honest as I should have been about those feelings with other people too, hence the line ‘all is good anyway, or so I say’.”

Tune in now.
