Grime has long had a fascination with computer games.

From the chirruping synths through to the raw energy of the beats, grime producers have picked up on the blistering chip-melting sounds of the 8-Bit era.

South London producer Skelecta draws from this well on new EP 'Princess Peach', lacing his beats with fluro-soaked Mega Drive melodies.

Out shortly – purchase LINK – it's a dexterous display of electronic innovation at 140.

Clash is able to premiere the title cut, with the chopped up vocal samples sitting alongside those recognisable aural bleeps.

As usual, though, there's that cutting amount of bass weight in amongst the day-glo electronics.
