Sometimes it's good to be put on the spot, it can positive to be placed under pressure.
A producer with a fast rising reputation, Sekuoia was invited to perform at Roskilde last summer. Faced with an enormous task, the Danish artist retreated to his rehearsal room.
Composing lengthier, perhaps fuller pieces, the producer happened upon something fresh. Influences coalesced, with Sekuoia seeming to – all cliche aside – reach a new level on 'Wave'.
The producer explains:
"One night I was playing random stuff on this Spanish guitar, and singing through a mic with loads of reverb on, and while just singing random words, the melody and lyrics just occurred. Since then I’ve been adding new elements along the way. It’s the first track I’ve made with proper lyrics, and in a way it has been the hardest track for me to produce."
A gorgeous, expansive, ambitious track, you can check out 'Wave' below.
Catch Sekuoia at London venue the Waiting Room on December 2nd.
