Premiere: Sebastian Voigt – ‘Capitao Pinto’

Retro techno motifs, with chunky 808s and shimmering synth work...

Sebastian Voigt (Seb to his friends) is a German artist who came to London and ended up teaming up with some mates to launch one of the capital’s most infamous afterhours parties, Lo*kee. He spent many a hazy Sunday in the capital from 2008 onwards before returning to Berlin a couple of years where he has been working at the city’s infamous Zur Wilden Renate club ever since.

In tandem with his club and DJing endeavours, Seb has also been busy in the studio with previous releases dropping on Visionquest, My Favorite Robot and Keinemusik and now he’s prepping a brand new EP with Brazilian outfit In Their Feelings.

Due for release later this month, ‘Capitao Pinto’ draws on retro techno motifs, with chunky 808s and shimmering synth work, analogue squelches and melancholy riffs straight out of the Juan Atkins Academy of Technological Advancement in Music. It’s a beaut, have a listen using the player below…
