Premiere: Scott Yoder – ‘Looking Back In Blue’

The Pharmacy frontman takes a solo turn...

Scott Yoder is perhaps best known as the one time frontman of The Pharmacy, Seattle punks who did things their own way for over a decade.

Turning solo, the songwriter released a sparse, affecting cassette and took off around the United States, playing ad hoc shows wherever he could.

Punk in approach but perhaps not in sound, Scott Yoder retains a certain directness half-inched from The Pharmacy. Debut album proper 'Looking Back In Blue' arrives on March 25th, with Clash able to supply something special up front.

The title cut is powerful yet soothing, and acts as a creative primer for what fans can expect on the full length. Scott explains:

"No expectations, no promises, I wrote and recorded this record in the way that made sense to the songs, not to appease the allegiances of any rock 'n' roll sub-genre. The act of digging up a barebones a cappella voice memo. What did it really need? Anything? Figuring out what compelled me to hum a series of notes, what harmonized with it… that felt so much more real than any band practice I could remember."
