Premiere: Safe To Swim – ‘Friends’

It's a vivid exploration of grief...

Brighton risers Safe To Swim have enjoyed a stellar year.

A series of sizzling live shows and superb single releases have sketched out unrelenting hype, with the band's precocious pop-etched indie proving to be mighty addictive.

New single 'Friends' finds Safe To Swim exploring bittersweet themes, looking at how grief can bring people together.

Lyrically nuanced, their astute word play pushes the south coast group to a fresh level, working carefully, with great subtlety.

Jim Filippides explains: “It was inspired after speaking to a couple of my friends who had tragically lost someone very close to them. Based from what I was told, the song was born.”

A poignant but addictive piece of indie songwriting, the visuals for 'Friends' display a band coming to grips with their own potency.
