Premiere: Py – ‘Fresh Sheets’

A mixture of art and music...

Py likes to cross disciplines, to fuse styles.

The artist recently unveiled her Colour Choir installation, which was prompted by her recent EP. The installation is due to come to a close as part of the Convergence festival, running between March 3rd – 6th at Kachette in London.

Clash is able to premiere 'Fresh Sheets' and it's a beautiful fusion of atmospheric vocals and wonderful production. Airing today, you can also check out some words from Py on the making of the track.

Much of the inspiration for the Colour Choir installation came from writing and recording the track 'Fresh Sheets'. The idea for the track itself initially came from wanting to mark and combine different vocal harmonies in the composition in new ways. The installation is an extension of that – exploring how these layers of harmony in my voice might be visualised and projected within a space, forming new connections between the senses, and between sights and sounds.

By night a special edit of Fresh Sheets will be performed live with all 13 speakers and light sculptures positioned around the space creating an experience that operates spatially and visually as well as sonically. During the day the installation will be an open to the public. By triggering vocal loops using drum pads visitors will be able to create their own structure of sound and colour in the space.
