There’s an undeniable magic that’s formed from a marriage of Toronto and the UK’s underground music scenes; whether through the Six God’s love of anything British to artists like Canadian grime MC and producer Tre Mission who have been bubbling under for years.
This is also made clear on a new banger from rising Canadian producer Pusher, who’s linked up with Wolverhampton MC and producer Heckz for his new single ‘Mayweather’. The punchy banger bridges the gap between his self-titled “Neon” style and the SetPace representative’s grime stylings.
The track originally landed on the first compilation from Deadbeats, the label formed by Toronto EDM outfit Zeds Dead formed. The duo’s own ‘Northern Lights’ album last year saw them dabbling in grime fusion, linking up with Ghetts, and their aim now is to thrust new producers into the forefront.
'Pusher' is warming up for big things in 2017, already able to count production giants like Diplo, The Chainsmokers and Jai Wolf amongst his fanbase, and following the release of his debut ‘New Laces’ EP on Black Butter at the end of last year. ‘Mayweather’ is the wake up call for those sleeping.
Tune in now.
