Post War Glamour Girls needed to get away.
Eager to cut themselves off and focus purely on music, the Yorkshire band packed their van and headed for one of Britain's most beautiful outcrops.
The village of Skerray in the Scottish Highlands supplied a soothing base for the group, who relished the ability to make music for its own sake.
New album 'Swan Songs' is the result. Out soon, it could well be Post War Glamour Girls' most natural, most condensed document yet.
James Smith explains: “We decided with this album that we wanted to get lost during the recording process. To let it consume us entirely throughout. No distractions from our day to day lives. No dashing mid-take to get to work on time. No phone calls from our landlords. No other commitments. Just two solid weeks of living it.”
New cut 'Pollyanna Cowgirl' airs first on Clash, and the grinding guitars sit against a clipped vocal, with the scattered drums underpinning it all.
Tune in now.
'Swan Songs' is set to be released on April 21st.
