Premiere: Pond – Colouring The Streets (Live In Perth)

Australian psychedelic crew return...

Part of Perth's sprawling, chaotic and inspiring psychedelic scene, Pond were essentially formed without any specific remit, any specific sound.

Allowed to do whatever the hell they liked, the Australian group have led fans on a merry dance, producing albums almost on a whim.

Perhaps it's this unpredictability, this spark which gives Pond such life. Last year's 'Hobo Rocket' was a breakthrough of sorts, with follow up album 'Man, It Feels Like Space Again' due out later this year.

As a preview, Clash is able to premiere a righteous live rendition of 'Colouring The Streets'. Recorded in their native Perth, it opens with graceful guitar chords, almost recalling Galaxie 500 in its slow-core ambience.

Thereafter, though, the track explodes into a lengthy, fugged up jam, all broken guitar pedals, flailing hair and vocals which reach for the heart of the sun.

Check it out now.
