onDeadWaves is a new project, featuring two very recognisable faces.
A duo, one is James Chapman, better known as Maps, while the other is Polly Scattergood. The pair entered the studio last year and struck up immediate chemistry, with debut track 'Blackbird' appearing during the final weeks of 2015.
onDeadWaves will release their debut album this Spring, matching smeared, shoegaze influenced vocals against glistening electronics, and moments of genuine darkness.
New cut 'Blue Inside' will be released shortly, with Clash able to premiere the visuals. Film maker Lukasz Pytlik steers the clip, which builds upon the drama of the lyrics, constructing an entire world around the duo's music.
The duo explain: "'Blue Inside' is essentially about a loss – it’s that moment when you finally come out of the numbness and realise you can actually feel something. The song has a positive message though. It is about moving on, and continuing on the journey. It was a real honour to work with Lukasz Pytlik again on the Blue Inside video, he shoots in a very cinematic way which we both really love."
