Premiere: Oaktree – ‘Things Of Glass’

From new EP 'Dust'

Oaktree is a unique talent.

His music seems to move effortlessly from genre to genre, a phantom that passes through solid barriers.

The 'Chapters' EP marks Oaktree out as someone blessed with fascinating idiosyncrasies, and these individual moments spill over into his new material.

Forthcoming EP 'Dust' is out on February 5th, with Oaktree introducing it thus: "'Dust' is a record that feels like a journey around the world by sea, started in the 20th century, only to drift ashore about a century later. It makes this compelling, versatile and timeless record more beautiful, mysterious and – for those who are not afraid of it – romantic. Think of a private party with William Basinski, Nicolas Jaar and Fennesz, and you get the drift."

Clash is able to premiere new track 'Things Of Glass' and it's a curiously fragile piece of music. Achieving a rare intimacy of sound, Oaktree matches this against a welcoming, outward approach.
