The songwriter's solo output has won numerous awards, with Jacob now deciding to work in a group context.
Mount Song is an attempt to fulfil this ambition, with the band's debut album set to arrive on May 5th.
Jacob Johansson explains: “I write about that which feels urgent to me, the things that knock me out; my encounters with life's monsters. That which feels most urgent for me in the moment becomes the content of the songs.”
New cut 'Rocket Ride' is online now, and it fuses a slight psychedelic edge to some introverted songwriting, reminiscent of those early Shins albums or even aspects of Flaming Lips.
