Nestled away on the East Coast of Scotland, Dundee tends to mind its own affairs.
Remarkably self-contained, the city boasts a thriving music scene which – away from the twin poles of Edinburgh and Glasgow – can get away with doing its own thing.
Model Aeroplanes are remarkably fresh-faced, yet have been able to carefully build up their own identity. An electric live proposition, their Scottish following is already reaching feverish levels.
Well, it's time for the rest of us to catch up. New single 'Electricity' drops on May 26th via FIrst Run Records, and it's an epic, hugely contagious piece of songwriting.
With that chugging bass and jagged guitar lines, there are shades of post-punk but this is the widescreen variety: think (early) Simple Minds or even U2 without the over-riding ego issues.
Another golden nugget from Model Aeroplanes, you can check out 'Electricity' below.
