Breaking through in 2010, Edu Imbernon has more than managed to match the hype.
With his fluid mixing and impeccable selections, the tastemaker has won countless awards, fusing nu-disco flavours to classic house sounds.
Kicking off his own Fayer imprint, the producer has decided to tackle an indie dancefloor staple. Released earlier this year, Metronomy's 'I'm Aquarius' was one of the summer's true soundtracks, matching Joe Mount's gentle vocals to some thrilling production.
Chopping it apart, Edu Imbernon adds some electronic textures, submerging the refrain in reverb before layering in blistering house tones. In his own words:
"The concept around the Fayer label is to bridge the song based sounds of indie and electronica and the more club friendly sounds of house and techno. As such I looked to retain Metronomy's more indie leaning sounds while making something more electronic and club friendly – whilst trying to make a remix that will surprise the listener, full of energy and eclecticism."
