Merz – real name Conrad Lambert – earned almost immediate success.
Signed to a major label deal, the songwriter found himself embroiled in a web of hype. Disgusted he walked away, only to return five years later and embark on an enthralling series of releases.
New album 'Thinking Like A Mountain' will be released on November 6th via Accidental Records, and it could well be the songwriter's most experimental release to date.
Produced by Matthew Herbert guests include Shahzad Ismaily and founder member of Icelandic band müm Gyða Valtýsdóttir, with additional mix work accomplished by Dimlite and Ewan Pearson.
Clash is able to premiere new cut 'Serene' and, if we're honest, it's aptly titled. A beautiful piece of music, Merz' to-the-point vocals are set against a drifting, subtle arrangement.
Check it out now.
