Premiere: Melleefresh & Alixander III – My Life (Without You)

Seedy, rambunctious house...

In a way, Melleefresh is one of the pivotal figures in North American dance music.

After all, the producer uncovered deadmau5, an artist who – like it or not – has dominated clubs, stages and arenas across the continent for the past five years.

A close collaborator, Melleefresh has stuck to her underground roots. New track 'My Life (Without You)' finds Melleefresh working with Alixander III (of much lamented house quartet Azari & III).

Out on May 5th via Play Records, it's a seedy, in-yr-face piece of rambunctious house music. Complete with remixes from Bobmo and Michele Pinna, Clash is able to premiere the original version below.

But wait! We've also managed to secure a playlist from Melleefresh – check out her picks below.

LE YOUTH – (Ben Pearce Remix) – COOL (Sony Music)
LE YOUTH have a cool retro/modern sound. I really like the original to ‘COOL' and when I heard Ben’s remix, I thought, he just iced the cake!

Kerri Chandler – Rain (Nervous)
Kerri is an old friend of mine and has been dominating the house scene for years. ‘Rain' is such a classic and timeless to me.

MelleeFresh & SpekrFrks – Wishing (Play Records)
This is a new genre for me but I love it. Magical sexy 'glitch hop' for those shooting stars at night!

Alex Metric – Hope (Atlantic)
When you own a label you have moments when you hear a song and think, I wish that was one of my releases… ‘Hope' is one of these tracks.

Dusky – Careless (Simple Records)
This is a straight up dance floor banger. Everything about it says shut up and dance!

Todd Terje – Delorean Dynamite (Olsen Records)
I own a Delorean so when I first heard this, I thought what perfect music to accompany a road trip! Also, Todd Terje makes great music.

Deadmau5 – 1981 (Mike Vale Vs Jerome Robins Mix) (Play Records)
This is a classic Deadmau5 track reinvented and taken to a new level by Mike Vale and Jerome Robins.

Maya Jane Coles ft. Miss Kitten – Take A Ride (I Am Me)
I have a lot of respect for Maya and always like to support female DJs – there’s not many of us out there!

Julio Bashmore ft. Jessie Ware – Peppermint (Boardwalk Records)
The combination of Julio Bashmore’s banging beats and Jessie Ware’s devine vocal makes 'Peppermint' a smash. Also, I think the video for this is awesome.

Tensnake ft. Nile Rodgers and Fiora – Love Sublime (Virgin EMI)
I like it when different worlds collaborate and with two great musicians like Nile Rodgers and Tensnake the outcome is… sublime.

Disclosure – When A Fire Starts to Burn (PMR)
These guys are dominating the dance scene and this tracks brings a nice bit of Chicago house to the mainstream.
