Premiere: Marie Lang – ‘Comfort Zone’

Fusing elements of soul and R&B with glowing electronica…

Marie Lang wants to strip things back to their purest form.

The Austrian-born, LA-based singer/songwriter makes soulfully-charged music, with lyricism that punctures the surface – getting to the heart of a story.

New track ‘Comfort Zone’ fuses elements of soul and R&B with glowing electronica, pulsing percussion and shimmering instrumental arrangements.

Produced by Elliott Beenk – who’s worked with the likes of Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Josh Dean, Lissie) & more – this atmosphere builds to create a candid journey through the early stages of a relationship.

“Whether it’s about the wrong timing or feeling like something is missing,” Lang says. “Which I feel can be a common feeling after college, at least for me because it's been such a transformative time where I sometimes haven't really figured out what I want out of something.”

This “figuring out” is a theme of her upcoming debut EP, from which ‘Comfort Zone’ is the first single. The project will delve deep under Lang’s skin as she navigates through the highs and lows of her relationships, with an honesty that’s as empowering as it is revealing.

Clash is able to share ‘Comfort Zone’ for the first time – check it out now.
