14 years, nine studio albums, and a near limitless amount of ideas - that's Marconi Union, right there.
New album 'Ghost Stations' finds the project continuing to traipse across fresh ground, to sluice their influences through daring ventures.
Marconi Union explain: “People who have bought our previous records may think we've gone too far in this direction or that direction or that we don't do enough of some particular aspe ct anymore, but we've already done those things in our previous work and we have to keep pushing our boundaries otherwise what is the point? We want people to hear Ghost Stations and say “ 'What the f**k is that' either in a good or bad way!”
Out on August 16th, 'Ghost Stations' contains a mere four tracks, yet allows itself plenty of time to makes its point.
Clash is able to unveil an edit of the lugubrious, slow-moving 'Sleeper' - Marconi Union collate a slew of ideas, then let them slide gracefully across layers of sound.
Tune in now.
