Starting over can often be the hardest thing to do.
But that's exactly what Lyla Foy did when approaching her new EP 'Umi'. Wiping the slate clean, the songwriter began utilising a sparse, less-is-more approach, which seems to allow each note, each word to ring out clear and true.
Clash is able to premiere 'Right To Be' and it's warm, glistening and emotive on the surface. Underneath, though, rather darker currents are at work – Lyla Foy's voice trails off into the distance, with the emphasis on dream-like suggestion.
