Premiere: Louis Baker – ‘Birds’

Impressive New Zealand born songwriter...

Louis Baker is always searching.

A New Zealand native, the songwriter's quest for fresh ideas has taken him to foreign shores. Continually observing the world around him, Louis matches folk-laden arrangements to a curiously soulful vocal style.

New EP 'Louis Baker' will be released on June 29th, and Clash is lucky enough to be able to premiere the title track.

Softly hued songwriting with an oddly funky beat, 'Birds' was drawn from a very real place in Louis Baker's life. Let's allow the New Zealander the chance to introduce the track himself:

"Written when I was 18, the message in 'Birds' came from an earnest, longing to love, but feeling afraid to fall in, being fearful of the hurt, and the vulnerability of someone knowing your true colours. It also talks of having an openness to accept these joys and hardships, and to dive in."

Check it out now.
