The Scottish Highlands doesn't have a rich history of electronic music, to put it mildly.
Yet, somehow, the area has recently become a point of inspiration for left field producers. James Holden opened his mighty full length 'The Inheritors' with 'Rannoch Dawn', a track which drew lines between the rhythmic propulsion of techno and the rhythmic propulsion of a Highland reel.
Now Lord Of The Isles has also delved into the North's beautiful landscapes. A Scottish producer, the name is a reference to the feudal clan system which dominated the Western Isles, producing some of the most powerful figures in the area during the Middle Ages.
'Fyne (Permanent Vacation)' though, is extremely modern. Planet-E style techno with a nimble jazz twist, there's a grace and elegance to Lord Of The Isles' production which sets him apart.
Taken from upcoming EP '301C Symphony', you can listen to 'Fyne (Permanent Vacation)' below.
