A frustrating beast to tie down, Little Dragon could well be on the cusp of a breakthrough.
New album 'Nabuma Rubberband' (Clash review HERE) captures the energy, the blistering freneticism of the band's live show, yet also manages to smooth out the edges, to apply some tightly wrought structures to their inspiration.
Out now, it's a riveting return, one born out by a triumphant slot on the Clash stage at this year's instalment of the Great Escape.
As a little bonus, Clash is able to unveil a re-work of album highlight 'Klapp Klapp'. Scottish producer Lord Of The Isles steps into the fraying, delivering a house heavy mix with echoes of that dark, post-disco era.
A lengthy, meditative workout, Lord Of The Isles peels away Yukimi Nagano's vocals to tinker with Little Dragon's chassis – re-tooling it as a dark piece of electronic Futurism.
Check it out now.
