Premiere: Library Voices – ‘ZZyzx’

Canadian shoegaze with a surf guitar twang...

For a while there, it seemed as though tragedy would de-rail Library Voices.

Singer Carl Johnson was attacked and left badly beaten, with his struggle back to health slowing the group's progress to a halt.

Battling back, the vocalist helped complete new album 'Lovish'. Due for release on November 6th, it's essentially rooted in shoegaze but has some surf guitar overtones.

Clash is able to premiere new cut 'ZZyzx' and it's a minor gem. The title refers to a mythical hotspot in the Mojave desert, a not-quite-legal health retreat run by an early drop out.

Closed in the 70s, it was named ZZyzx as it would appear as the final word in the dictionary – literally, the last word in health.
