It gets awfully cold in Norway.
Perhaps that explains the strength of the country's dance scene. From disco to house, techno to dubstep, the area is a sweltering hotbed of new talent, spawning genres, crossovers, exchanges and fresh ideas.
Which leads to Lemaitre. The duo are rooted in electro, but clearly have an awareness of electronic music which extends far beyond Scandinavian shores.
Forming in 2010, the pair have twisted and evolved into something unique. Recently reaching number one on the iTunes dance chart in the United States, Lemaitre are clearly beginning to break through at home and abroad.
New release 'Relativity By Nite' is set to be released on September 30th, an EP containing a cross-section of the pair's work. 'Fiction' takes centre stage, and to celebrate its release Clash is able to present a new remix.
Mullaha steps in on guest production, taking the old school funky feel into a fresh direction. There's a touch of Daft Punk to this – the retro-futurist feel, the way it continually shifts rhythms but retains that same itchy, contagious funk.
Listen to it now.
