The Japanese collective allow their minds to wander, exploring the far-out recesses of the imagination in the process.
Fresh from a split release with Moon Duo, it seems that the international psych community is beginning to pick up on these vibrations.
New album 'House In The Tall Grass' drops on May 13th, with Clash able to premiere tripped out, Eastern-tinged new track 'Silver Owl'.
The sighing vocals allow each word to tumble over the next, while the nimble sitar-sounds in the background lend a lysergic air.
The track itself was inspired by lucid dreaming – the practise of prompting the unconscious mind to traipse down certain paths during the dreaming process.
The band's drummer Go explains:
“The inspiration for this song came from my experience in dreams – like lucid dreams where I can create another me, and be totally free from everything and flying around the sky. I think most people can relate the feeling where you are half asleep and half awake. Your brain is really heavy, and feel like something is pulling back your head, but your eyes stay the same position. We talked about our favorite dreams in the studio and tried to express each type that we have experienced. The last part of the song is our expression of a totally free and lucid dream.”
