Music isn't something that comes quickly to Jason Nolan.
The half-English, half-Malaysian producer pours over each track, spending day after day perfecting each sound, each idea.
New EP 'Wonder Years' is forthcoming on Majestic Casual, and its a soundscape experience, a series of shuffling moods, interchanging textures and tones.
Clash is able to premiere 'Opals & Banonos' and there's an endearing innocence to the music, a slight lo-fi touch that exemplifies that sense of emotion.
Rhythmically, the cut betrays a hint of jazz, one of Jason's real loves and a key underlying percussive element throughout the EP.
