A German composer, Jan Roth's recent album 'L.O.W.' was a perplexing yet beautiful treat.
Pitched somewhere between post-rock, avant electronics and jazz, it was a work which gleefully defied categorisation.
Since then, the composer has taken his Quartett out on the road. Across a series of highly improvisatory concerts Jan Roth has expanded on 'L.O.W.' to progress into some brand new areas.
Now label Sinnbus are ready to unveil a fresh live EP. Out on December 5th, it's a three track affair comprised of lengthy, heady arrangements.
'Rinnsal' is pushed into ever more fluid directions, with Jan Roth Quartett supplying some remarkably supple, jazz-influenced grooves.
