Brought up in an Italian-English family, Jack Savoretti became used to different sounds, different influences.

Moving to Switzerland at a young age, the aspiring songwriter became what he described as a "transatlantic mutt".

Well, this so-called mutt has just come of age. With his husky drawl and folk infused Americana, Jack Savoretti may just have completed the most accomplished album of his career.

Out on February 9th, 'Written In Scars' is worth filing alongside The Lumineers, say, or even fellow troubadour George Ezra.

Ahead of this, Clash is able to premiere album opener 'Back To Me'. An imposing, infectious return, it was crafted with producer (and Adele collaborator) Samuel Dixon.
