I'm Kingfisher is one of Sweden's best kept secrets.
Real name Thomas Jonsson, the songwriter has played more than 600 shows, releasing two full studio albums in the process.
New record 'Transit' arrives on April 13th (pre-order LINK), a stripped back sound largely recorded in single takes, live in the studio.
Guest musicians then over-dubbed their parts, retaining the warmth of the initial recording while adding something different.
He explains: "I wanted to give this album time, and time came to be a big part of it. 'Transit' is my sixth solo album and my first truly stripped down one. While I've been collecting the songs for this album I've seen people both depart and arrive. Events and plans that ended and became something else, a feeling and a movement that fascinates me a lot."
Ahead of the album's release we're able to share new song 'Sarajevo', a hearty, pastoral piece of Americana with a folk-hewn template.
A graceful return, it's one weighed down by experience while retaining a sense of lingering innocence. Tune in now.
