Premiere: IDLES – ‘The Idles Chant (Pete Robertson Remix)’

A dark, distorted re-work...

Bristol's fame as an electronic music citadel seems to allow the city's guitar scene space to simply be itself.

A thriving network of promoters, labels and musicians criss-cross the area, resulting in some daring and highly unusual sounds.

IDLES came of age in this atmosphere, with their distorted, feral take on rock's fetid remains pushing them in some startlingly fresh directions.

New EP 'MEAT' arrives on October 30th (pre-order it HERE), with 'The Idles Chant' getting a Pete Robertson overhaul. The Vaccines musician delivers something barbed and quite dark, but oddly anthemic in its repetitive nature.

Pete Robertson explains: "I loved mixing this. It was great to work on something that sounded so fearless right from the stems. It almost felt like the song was saying 'come on, what you got?'"
