Super Furry Animals weren't so much a band as an entire universe of possibilities.
Now on hiatus, the group's many and varied splinters are producing some fine work of their own. Gulp is a new(ish) project featuring Guto Pryce of Super Furry Animals and singer Lindsey Leven.
Pop in an extremely odd, surreal sort of fashion, the band's material sits somewhere between adept synth melodics and all out psychedelic whimsy.
Sharply DIY without seeming amateurish, there's a cute embrace to each track. Working with Sonic Cathedral, Gulp released new EP as a limited edition cassette at the weekend just in time for Cassette Store Day.
Set to receive a full release on October 13th via the very nice people at Sonic Cathedral (pre-order it HERE) you can stream the EP in full below.
Title cut 'I Want To Dance' is curiously joyous, while 'Diamonds In The Sky' pits soft, sensual vocals against home made electronics and spiraling guitar lines.
