Grime's explosive, barely containable energy has left impact marks in countless ways.
Currently enjoying a creative renaissance, grime's influence can now be felt in areas far remote from the council estates of Bow, E3.
Take Ghost Kwini. The Dutch producer has obviously soaked up grime's day-glo energy, it's Brutalist architecture, it's longing to dive head first into the future.
Working with Sonic Router, new EP 'Dark Address' is set to be released on June 9th and it finds the producer musing on the relationship between technology and the individual.
Utilising grime as a bare bones framework, Ghost Kwini stamps his own voice, his own authority on the spacious 140 format. There's a kinship with the likes of Mumdance or Logos here, in the way the Dutch talent painstaking de-constructs grime and re-builds it in a manner which suits his theory.
An outsider in an outsider genre, Ghost Kwini has been able to build up a truly unique, highly distinctive voice. 'Netscape Navigator' hones in on the internet, with the sudden kick drum thud seeming to echo fingers on a keyboard.
Delighting in and critiquing the addictive nature of web culture, it's both enthralling and deeply physical.
