Premiere: Fyfe – ‘Control’

Ahead of his debut album...

Paul Dixon grew up amidst a classical environment. A trained musician, it took a series of experiments, of daring excursions at univeristy to break down these barriers.

Now operating under the name Fyfe, the songwriter's powerful music eschews genre and style to focus on something truly individual.

Releasing music online, Fyfe's output has snared millions of SoundCloud plays, with the composer truly connecting with his audience.

Debut album 'Control' will be released on March 9th, and Clash is able to premiere the title track. Opening with bubbling, near ambient synths, the fragrant introduction gives way to powerful, strident electronics.

The piece is helmed by Fyfe's voice. Gently but purposefully intoning the lyrics, the arrangement bursts into life around him, propelled by some fluid drumming and hypnotic synths.

A powerful example of Fyfe's artistry, it fades into a cluster of hymn-like voices, the choral effect seeping slowly into the background.
