Premiere: Deux Furieuses – ‘Silenced By The Roar’

A protest against a stifling establishment...

Deux Furieuses released their debut album 'Tracks Of Wire' earlier this month, a spiky, incendiary offering.

Fusing post-punk to Riot Grrrl, the band's politicised approach takes a swipe at the establishment, at the crushing of dissent across the land.

New single 'Silenced By The Roar' epitomises this, with Deux Furieuses matching a needling, buzzsaw riff to lyrics that speak of the frustrations of British life in 2017.

They explain: "'Silenced By The Roar' is about the ascendency of the English 'roar', how we feel increasingly silenced by the government's 'crush the saboteurs' mentality and let down by 'piss poor politicians' who are unable to articulate a response to the failures of democracy and the big issues of our times. The song ends with a rallying cry of intent influenced by protests we have been part of outside Downing Street."
