The current creative flux within stateside hip hop is producing all manner of bizarre new shapes.
Sub Pop have led the way, snapping up adventurous talent such as Shabazz Palaces and THEESatisfaction. Now the label have swooped to sign clipping. with the trio set to release their debut album 'CLPPNG' on June 9th.
It's a fascinating collection, one that utilises avant garde electronics and found sounds, outrageous lyrics and uncompromising rhymes.
Based in Los Angeles, the three piece seem able to shut themselves off from contemporary currents in hip hop, producing something which is truly distinct.
Joined by a number of guests - Gangsta Boo, Guce and King T, to name but three - it's a tumultuous document, one which fizzes and bristles with a real sense of creativity.
