London has long been an industrial hub.
One of the founding platforms for the Industrial Revolution, it is now leading the way as a centre for new technology.
Yet this lineage, this history also means that the city is continually paving over itself, resulting in a series of fractured futures protruding from the ruins.
This is where Circle Traps base themselves. Housed in the rough-around-the-edges area of Leyton, the group make music which is rooted in electronics yet is also fiercely driven by a sense of humanity.
New EP 'Machine City' arrives on July 28th via Lex Records, and it's an imposing, inspiring introduction. The title cut is techno led, a spiralling array of machine funk grooves which interlock with computer precision.
