Broken Hands have always been ambitious.
Driving themselves forwards, the Canterbury five piece recently supported The Rolling Stones and toured alongside Band Of Skulls.
Finding a rapidly growing audience, the band should have been on top of the world – yet there was something missing.
Deciding to shake things up, Broken Hands began experimenting with new ideas, fresh directions. “Although we had a growing fan base I also knew none of us were totally happy with what we had been doing,” explains vocalist Dale Norton. “But I also now knew what we needed to do.”
“The next week we were offered a house in which to live communally – and suddenly just as we were even considering if we should split, a whole new set of songs and ideas were created.”
Becoming obsessed with the idea of flight, Broken Hands moved into the house and focussed on fresh material. Breaking cover, the band are ready to unveil a new track – and Clash have the premiere.
'Death Grip' is out now as a free download, with Broken Hands fusing their dirty blues sound which some distorted electronics. An instant, visceral return, you can check it out now:
Broken Hands are set to play London's Electrowerkz venue on March 31st.
