Ben Thomas has reached an impasse.
Releasing electronic music as French House producer L'Étranger for six years, he grew increasingly restless amid the rules and regulations of club culture.
Forming Big Tide, the three piece specialise in chiming guitar pop, sitting somewhere between Big Star and the Paisley Underground, complete with a dose of Mersey whimsy.
Ben comments:
“With Big Tide I’m focussing on songwriting. I want people to feel a level of familiarity when listening to our songs. They have this wholesome feel good vibe, which you don’t hear all that often nowadays…”
The band's debut LP was a delight, and we're glad to say that Big Tide have managed to complete another batch of new material, led by a very special single.
A compact mini-epic 'Hide Me In Your Spaceship' is a stellar dose of imaginative guitar pop, with the guitar lines sounding like David Crosby left to go rogue in Birkinhead.
It's a fun, love-lorn hymn, a neat encapsulation of what makes Big Tide such a wonderful, talented group.
Tune in now.
