It's a little bit soul, a little bit jazz...

Bakermat pairs with vocalist Albert Gold on new single 'Trouble'.

The track takes Bakermat right back to his roots, picking up on the jazz and soul influences that first piqued his interest.

Building on this, he sluices these sounds through his own production voice, before finally linking with Hackney vocalist Albert Gold.

It's a finely balanced collaboration, infectious but with real depth. Bakermat comments:

“With this project I went back to where it all began, combining jazz with soul and dance. I think the main thing that makes this track special is it’s a bittersweet feeling. It’s sad, but also comforting and uplifting.”

The video features Matt Baker, the animated dog character last seen in Bakermat’s previous single ‘Partystarter’.

A continuing story, it's a neat counterpoint to Bakermat's assured production. Watch 'Trouble' first on Clash...
