Premiere: Augustines – Weary Eyes

What’s in a name?

Augustines – formerly ‘We Are’ – have trimmed their moniker and focussed their sound, with the shortened name leading to grander ambitions.

Hitting the festival trail, the American group recently breezed through Scotland’s Wickerman Festival. Set to play Reading and Leeds, the band will finish their British sojourn with a headline date at historic London venue the Roundhouse.

Second album ‘Augustines’ is out now, with the grand songwriting matched to Peter Katis’ production. New single ‘Weary Eyes’ drops on September 8th, and it’s a striking introduction – if any were needed – to their sound.

Brimming with atmosphere, the arrangement is akin to early U2  or even the more bombastic moments of The National. Songwriting which is designed to be consumed by a mass audience, you can tune in below:
