Premiere: Aphix – ‘Ruby Grooves’

Forthcoming on Infinite Machine...

Aphix hails from the bass citadel of Bristol, and has already released material on the likes of Keysound Recordings.

Sharply defined, his taut take on UK funky's remnants has a dank, grimy feel that wouldn't be out of place at, say, one of the Boxed raves.

New EP 'Ruby Grooves' is forthcoming on Infinite Machine, and it further distils the beat maker's aesthetic. There's a darkness to the sound, running alongside a metallic exactness that could only come from system music.

Clash is able to premiere the title cut, and it's a sub-zero roller. The crisp cymbals are matched by loping synths, with that strange, eerie sound recalling the early dubstep period.

Check it out now.

'Ruby Grooves' will be released on October 30th.
