Annabel Allum is still only 20 years old, a raw talent that is in the process of blossoming.
Matching deeply personal, noir folk hymnals to a distorted sense of noise, her slim catalogue to date indicates a songwriter more than worthy of your attention.
New single 'Tricks' recalls early PJ Harvey or EMA's current creative phase, with those nasty amplified sounds set against a beautifully tender vocal.
Annabel explains: "'Tricks' is about survival both physically and mentally. Sometimes we as people are left out of things; it may feel rubbish at the time, but it brings an invaluable outsider perspective. This song was written kind of appreciating that… sometimes weakness brings great strength and you can only gain that through experience."
