Is it too early to talk about an 'Australian sound'?
Electronic music, we mean. The past 12 months have found a host of intriguing artists wash up on these shores, with the likes of Flume and Chet Faker scoring widespread success.
Beneath this, though, is a hugely fertile electronic scene which is notable through its sheer variety and dexterity. In Melbourne, though, the go-to man for young artists is audio engineer Andrei Eremin. Amongst the city's close knit scene the producer is lauded as someone of enormous imagination, whose tech knowledge is second to none.
A perfectionist, new EP 'Pale Blue' should see Andrei Eremin emerge from the shadows and claim centre stage. Lush, bleached out electronics, it could almost be tagged 'Balaeric' if that geographical reference point wasn't out by thousands of miles.
Enormously inventive and fragrantly beautiful, classical flourishes mingle with downbeat production and a host of guest vocalists move the palette into fresh realms.
