Al Dobson Jr creates music using elemental sounds, led by percussion and the human voice.
The producer and DJ is releasing a new 23 track 12” next month – 'Sounds From The Village Vol.2' – and today shares the latest track from the album, 'Who U Think U Are pt.2'.
It’s a funky, bubbling groove with a hypnotic bassline and soulful vocal sample, part of Dobson Jr’s second full-length release on fellow producer Kutmah’s experimental Izwid imprint.
The record – also compiled by Kutmah – follows on from 'Sounds From The Village Vol.1’, unearthing more drum tracks and abstract musical curation from the Dobson Jr. archives to create a series of fonk tales and movie scene interludes.
Available to preorder at Bandcamp here, the new album is released on vinyl on 1st February – Clash is excited to tease the record with a fresh piece of music.
