Premiere: AFFAIRS – ‘Stained Gold’ EP

University friends with their eyes on the prize...

University can be the best place to forge long-lasting musical friendships, and quintet AFFAIRS met at Hull, bonding over their shared appreciation of ‘80s music.

Now settled in Manchester, they’ve since been hotly tipped by the likes of Steve Lamacq and earned supporting slots to bands such as Alt-J and Circa Waves. In between commandeering stages, however, they’ve been busy crafting new EP ‘Stained Gold’, which sees rousing melodies underpinned by thunderous percussion. Lead single ‘Runaway’ captures the thrill and abandon of nights out, while ‘Out of the Deep’ is all anthemic choruses and theatrical drums.

We’ve got the whole release premiering now – check it out below…

The band are set to play the Old Blue Last this Friday (May 6th) alongside Glass Peaks, The Shimmer Band and Fish.

Pre-order the EP on iTunes (which goes live Friday 6th May).
