A craftsman, that's Adrian Crowley.
Across six albums – to date – the Irish bard has carved out a reputation for sweeping arrangements, for devastating songwriting and for a punishing emotional impact.
Arriving via Chemikal Underground, new album 'Some Blue Morning' will be released on November 10th. The follow-up to the Choice Music Prize nominated record 'I See Three Birds Flying', it's a wonderful return.
Clash is able to premiere the title track. 'Some Blue Morning' utilises 'blue' as a metaphor for hope, for purity – yet there's also a feeling of sorrow here, of parting.
Utilising near religious imagery, Adrian Crowley's baritone delivery seems to impact an overwhelming sense of meaning to each phrase.
Gently intoned, the space afforded to his voice allows the Irish singer to fully express himself.
A gorgeous listen, you can tune in below.
