Odd-pop four-piece Porij have shared new EP ‘outlines’ in full.
The band formed in Manchester, blending club tropes with left-field tropes, all held together with pop ambition. The mixture seems to have stuck like glue – the group’s opening batch of releases were driven forwards by an emphatic sense of creativity, while a viral cover of Radiohead’s ‘Everything In Its Right Place’ for 6Music became something of a breakout moment.
Playing a slew of festivals across the country this summer, Porij have just shared new EP ‘outlines’ in full. A dextrous four-tracker, it retains their thirst for club energy, while injecting different colours, melodies, and moods into those spaces.
Part of a personal sense of evolution, vocalist Eggy comments: “Lyrically, I think it’s some of the most raw stuff I’ve ever written…”
“I’m not really hiding behind anything. I think we’ve had a lot of experiences over the past year, which have been intense. And it’s really exciting, to find that voice.”
Porij hit the road this month, playing London’s iconic Heaven on September 23rd, before returning to Manchester for a show at Gorilla on September 25th.
