Poppy’s ‘Motorbike’ Is A Seductive Dark-Wave Hymn

Her new album 'Zig' lands next month...

Avant-pop trailblazer Poppy returns with new single ‘Motorbike’.

The rulebreaker returns this Autumn, up-ending expectations in the process. A truly unique figure in music and fashion, Poppy seems able to blend Millennial alt tropes – think nu metal guitars – with a thick pop gloss.

New album ‘Zig’ lands on October 27th, with Poppy sharing another riveting single. Out now, ‘Motorbike’ plays with vintage imagery, flipping those masculine tropes on their head.

A kind of alternative ‘Born To Run’, Springsteen’s “strap those legs across my engines” haunts the quasi-sexual imagery employed by Poppy – as ever, she blasts it into intergalactic realms, conjuring something new in the process.

Poppy sings: “I wonder why, nothing catches my eye, quite like the sight of a girl with a powerful machine between her legs.”

Tune in now.
