poolblood combines with Shamir on new single ‘shabby’.
The Toronto based songwriter has completed work on their debut album, with ‘Mole’ set to land in January. An artist who thrives on intimacy, poolblood purposefully sought out lyrical spaces that would make them uncomfortable on the record, allowing truth to emerge.
New song ‘shabby’ illustrates this. The pensive, spider-like guitar lines sit alongside that patient vocal, with poolblood diving into the intimacy of friendship. A form of love and bonding that doesn’t often enter the lexicon, poolblood is joined by some wonderful guest vocals courtesy of Shamir.
Out now, ‘shabby’ is accompanied by a playfully trippy visual, shot in and around the Pacific North West.
“It’s a trippy video celebrating friendship!” poolblood. “I wrote this with one of my best friends in mind as I really wanted to write something to express my love for my friends.”
